-Remember when you ordered Squaredance LE and you waited and waited and waited for weeks and weeks and then you found out Stephen Kennedy had like 300 of them in the trunk of his car that he had forgotten to ship?
-Remember when Blue Bomber Forever came out?
-Remember when Mustin ran for Mayor?
-Remember when DJ Pretzel named Mustin's GAUNTLET!! mix "Who Let the Bassoons Out?"
-Remember when Dale North's internet alias was "ProfOakX"?
-Remember when you donated to the PMM fund drive?
-Remember Ultima Eternity?
-Remember how excited you were when Zeromus: Essence of Odium was gonna be on PMM? And then your crushing despair when it didn't make the cut?
-Remember the demo of Zeromus: EoO with that cool demonic voice?
-Remember Xella?
-Remember when you found out that there wasn't gonna be a version of Sewer Sauce with live instruments? And then you cried?
-Remember when the OneUp Studios website had a picture of Impresario on it?
-Remember the Luna moth?
-Remember Gilgamesh's attic?
-Remember when Mustin would always say HA! ?
-Remember when there was always a new Samurai Man! ?

I remember 75% of that. I'm not quite an oldbie. I'm more of a middlebie, really...

HA! That's great - it actually does make me remember those things.
Very cool.
This is quite a day for nostalgia.
I remember most of these events, and things such as this always make me think of spring or summer. And, currently, it is about fifty five degrees, without a cloud in the sky.
Spring has begun in P-Town, Oregon, and it's only February 12th.

I remember submitting a freaking midi copy-paste medley I did to Ultima Eternity and waiting for ever for the results. My goodness. I wonder if I still have that crap lying around somewhere.

Also:
Remember the demo of Zeromus: EoO with that cool demonic voice?
I remember liking the guitar for that one a lot better than the current one, somehow.

Tells me that you've probably been around just a little longer than have I.
BTW...I like swords.

That tells me that you and I have something in common: We both discovered it only a year ago.

Dude.
Whatever happened to IronEdge?
Xella
02-13-2004, 12:22 AM
Dude, why am I in ya list and IronEdge isn't? He's more hardcore "oldbie" than I am oO; 'Specially since I came back for a month a... couple months ago.
Now people can't remember Xella anymore. I never existed! I rewrite history! *chants* Revisionism! Revisionism!

Yeah. First Zeromus was a much cleaner recording, but Zeromus 2 was a sloppy one day recording that was redeemed by better playing (different guitarist) and tone. I'm very surprised to hear people remembering this stuff. I'm very happy to see people paying attention.
And of course now anything wrong with this thread is redeemed by Xella's presence :D. Where the hell did you come from? Welcome to OUS.
Iron Edge may have been bigger/influential in kickstarting the PMM forums goldenperiod, but you were the biggest member. Although that's not to say I didn't have my heyday as well. We were nearly tied with those ludicrous 2000+ post counts. Someone would always wonder why I had the red background with the WARNING.

Wouldn't this rather go on the KFSS board? After all, most of those are KFSS community references, not OUS ones... but yeah, I remember every single one of them. Though my Squaredance was never actually left in said trunk ;)

Yeah, my version of that story is worse. He left ME in the trunk for weeks, instead of my discs.
You know that, was a horrible joke but I'm leaving it. I'd understand moving this thread to the PMM boards, but it honestly probably wouldn't be as lively if it got posted there.
Almasy - :o my lips are sealed. Seriously, that PMM/Mike Zornek sample is probably the best you'll hear of it.
Shonen - I think he meant the full version, not the demo.

Ah, but the thread would still be wrong as my magnificent presence would not have come to it. I've forbidden myself to go back to the PMM boards (I've spent quite a lot of time angsting about it since I picked up some not-so-nice groupies last time I was there oO) but THESE aren't the PMM boards. So... no problemo =D
'Sides, it's General. So, no guilt. We're all square. Er... round. Or... abstract. Yes, that's quite it. Abstract.
My Squaredance story is worse than all of yours: I never got it .-.;; *still hunting eBay every... year or so nn;;*
As for where I came from... Samurai-san tracked me down on my journal like... yesterday, two days ago, depending on ya time zone and hinted real hard XD;;

My pal Kalekkos linked me to KFSS back in summer 99. I inevitably linked him to OCR, back when it was version one with the orange background and the drop down menu. He saw the ads for PMM via Animenation.com. It was up for pre order...it only took another two years for it to come out.
I remember that the donation meter seemed like it would never be filled. Along with the waiting. And listening to the demos endlessly for hours. Still have them tucked away in my hard drive...I emailed Stephen once, asking him if he would ever release those unreleased tracks. He never answered back. =\
My friends chipped in to buy me PMM Gold for my 16th b-day back in 2000. Some two years later I finally got it. And thus I rejoiced and experienced a bit of VGM history. So, yeah, PMM will always hold a special place in my book.
Haha, I remember showing one of my friends that my name was in the booklet, in very tiny print. And he was like

I started at PMM a month or so ago, but things got boring fast. Naturaly, I found myself wandering to the gates of OUS. And here I stand.^_^

XELLA!
Biggest huggles for you!!
Yes, the PMM boards have died down quite a bit. Most people have been hanging out here anyway.
It's cool to remember this stuff. And it's even better to see Xella around again.
It's been such a long time!
