While walking around town bored last night, I started thinking about different companies and how they suck. I found myself looking at a copy of Blood Omen 2 for GCN and say Eidos made it and I found myself thinking "man, Eidos sucks." After a few more moments of thinking, I realized they made the Tomb Raider and Fear Effect series and thought about other companies, so that's how this poll came about.

(On a side note, I was also going to enter Neversoft with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, but that made 1 vote too many.)

Man, you left out Zelda. Guess I'll go with Final Fantasy, cuz I like that one too.

I've gotta go with GTA. I don't know too much about some of these games, but in my mind there just isn't anything to compare with GTA. The free-form gameplay and the ability to go just about wherever you want and do whatever you want is just so damn awesome to me. [shrugs] Call me a video game naif if you like, but does anyone else think the music on the car "radios" is *such* a nice touch? Next step - be able to upload songs you like to be played on the car radios! :D

Nintendo - Zelda

Nintendo - Mario

Nintendo - Metroid

Konami - Castlevania

Enix - Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest

Capcom - Street Fighter

Sega - Sonic the Hedgehog

I'd say the only choices even deserving of being on that poll would be Mega Man and Final Fantasy. Course without the 7 glaring omissions I've indicated above its just silly anyway.

Most polls are pretty ridiculous, but any poll with the words "best game" and "Tomb Raider" in it without any negative clauses blows my mind away.

Agreed. Although I think it would be fine if it had all of the above without DW/DQ, and plus FF and Mega Man. Just because nowhere near as many people have really played (Squ)Enix's series. In fact, I've only played a couple of them, and only very briefly.

Yeah I agree. But I went with FF just because it's the series I'm most familiar with and wanted to actually play. That and I couldn't justify voting for Phantasy Star Online solely for the fact that it let's me play Naruto on the Gamecube.

There's a reason I left out Legend of Zelda and Wild Arms and that's because I was going with 3rd party companies...sorry for not clearing that up sooner.

I have no excuse for leaving out Konami other than I forgot...I seriously meant to put Konami with Metal Gear.

Nobody said anything about Wild ARMs. I really liked the first one...never beat it, though. Didn't really care for the second one, and never played the third one.

Third one's spectacular if you liked the first. It's great if you didn't like the first too!

Looking forward to the remake of the first, too.

Yeah...is that supposed to be in 3D or 2D? I hope 2D, because ultimately I think I prefer my RPGs that way, and I thought the first Wild ARMs did the whole 2D RPG thing right, although I think it would've been better if the battle graphics had matched the map graphics.

Paper graphics, I think. I have the demo disc from Playstation Underground that I never played that I can send you if you'd like.

Topless list, maybe, but toplist...?

What other game would you nominate for Eidos other than Tomb Raider or Fear Effect?

Deus Ex (more ION Storm than Eidos though!)

Near as I can tell, Eidos hasn't really produced anything worthy of being on a "BSET GAEM EVAR" list.

The Shining Force family of games has always been one of my favorites, although somewhat underrated. They're re-releasing the original Shining Force for GBA! It looks so nice; if you never played Shining Force and you have a GBA, pick up a copy and see what you've been missing.

I'd say Final Fantasy simply for the soundtracks, and FF IV and VI.

And of course Castlevania games kick ass.
